My paintings are a combination of working outside, often in the most beautiful places on the NW coast of Scotland, and back in my studio in Glenshiel.

Really immersing myself in the subject matter. This is on the Isle of Raasay off the Isle of Skye. I couldn't resist.

Soft Pastels are a messy business !

I rub the soft pastel pigment into the paper with my fingers. It's very satisfying getting your hands dirty.
